Service Description

Nature therapy, sometimes known as eco-therapy is a term given to activities and therapies that give individuals access to physical, mental, emotional and even spiritual wellbeing through nature connection. Nature therapy is a fun, interactive, experiential way to help teams to de-stress, build morale and increase cohesion and creativity through nature connection. Coming from a corporate background myself, I know only too well the huge costs resulting from work-related stress, burnout, staff turnover and absence. That’s why I am so passionate about working with clients to invest in their members’ wellbeing as a way to help them to reduce their costs at an organisational level whilst investing in a healthy, happy workforce. A recent UK based research study on Forest Bathing showed that “Forest Bathing increased heart rate variability by 12%, and a 29% reduction in anxiety after 2 hours of forest bathing in ancient woodlands.”* Other benefits include reduced anxiety, decreased levels of depression, improvements in cardiovascular and metabolic health and a boost to the immune system. It is is very different to traditional team building activities which are often focused around physical and mental challenges that may alienate certain populations from the workforce. In contrast, nature therapy enables participants an equal opportunity to share the space together, to be invited to approach sessions from a place of non-judgment and compassion, and to deepen their understanding of each other and themselves through their connection to nature. It is immersive, and transformative and provides a supportive nurturing place in which individuals can come together across all areas of the organisation. Programmes are very much tailored to your business’s objectives whilst taking into consideration elements such as time, season, needs of attendees, desired outcomes and number of participants. All programmes are underpinned by mindfulness and time outdoors connecting to nature but can also include a number of other elements such as mindful movement, yoga, breathwork, self-massage, art, poetry, and yogic philosophy to deepen and enrich the experience. There is always an invitation for participants to seek within themselves how they might take learnings from these sessions forward into their daily lives and back into the workplace. “In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks.” John Muir
